You made me cold, Mommy!
“You made me cold!”Yes, the 2 1/2 year old is still alive. She just can’t fall asleep and she’s pissed off. That’s why she’s angry. But why, exactly? I think about it. And I go through the checklist: She’s snuggled into her pajamas, she’s under the covers, teddy bear in one arm, doll in the other. Looks heartwarming.
“Why are you cold?” I ask. She looks at me with her big eyes and an irritated look. Because I turned off the light, she explains. It’s obvious: lights on = warm. Lights off = cold. I’m ready to compromise and switch back on. The child falls asleep. I don’t.
Have a good week’s sleep. With or without light.
